Lucknow university is organising many relief and academic activities during covid crisis.VC Prof Alok Kumar Rai who threw light on various initiatives taken by the University under times of this unprecedented Corona virus pandemic. He also appreciated the initiative taken by Biochemistry department to discuss various aspects of the pandemic and expressed hope that this webinar will be successful in attaining the desired objective.
Webinar was organized by the Department of Biochemistry lucknow University on Corona virus and Covid 19 Pandemic : Victory beyond defeat. The webinar was inaugrated in the morning by Prof Alok Kumar Rai.Prof Somesh Shukla, Dean, Faculty of Science. Prof Sudhir Mehrotra, Head gave insights into the basic purpose of organising this webinar is to discuss various aspects of the Corona virus pandemic by a distinguished panel of speakers. First webinar was delivered by Prof Neelam Singh Sangwan, Head, Department of Biochemistry Central University of Haryana, She described in detail about the Traditional and Herbal Medicines which can play an important role in increasing our immunity as well as exert antiviral effects. The Second speaker Prof Manoj Kumar Tripathi from ICAR- CIAE, Bhopal, who in a very lucid manner told about various Functional Foods, Neutrceuticals and Probiotics in increasing our immunity acting as Immune Boosters so that we are better adapted to combat the Corona virus. Third webinar was delivered by Prof. Neelam Pathak from Department of Biochemistry, Dr RML Avadh University, Ayodhya . She discussed in detail about RNA viruses such as HIV and Corona virus, their molecular biology and Genetics. Fourth webinar was delivered by Dr. Timir Tripathi, from Department of Biochemistry, NEHU, Shillong. He delivered an extra ordinary lecture on Recent advances in Biotechnology such as Recombinant Insulin, Monoclonal Antibodies, Genetically modified crops, etc. This webinar was attended by Faculty members of the University departments and other Universities, MSc Biochemistry and Biotechnology students of the department and other life science departments of the University. desired objective.
