Lucknow. In Harishankari Vatika, Peepal Banyan Pakad plants are planted together in the same pit. There is a description of them in the mythological period. Their combined planting is called Harishankari. In the said garden, Hari is Vishnu and Shankar is Shiva, and Pakar is used in various rituals of Hinduism. When all three trees are planted together, their stems appear in the same form when they grow together. The three trees of Harishankari, such as Peepal: which is the Bodhi tree that bestows Bodhi, is the food of the elephant, the leaves are always moving, and is the abode of Lord Vishnu and the fire of Yagya, Banyan: the tree of which is worshiped on the day of Savitri And which is a more spreading tree, and Pakadah, which in Sanskrit is called plaksha means going down, gives shade due to their spread and provides protection and food to many creatures. They are also used along the roads for the beautification of the city. Harishankari planting is important in every way. As per the instructions of the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Chancellor of Lucknow University Anandiben Patel, a massive tree plantation campaign in Lucknow University, in 2021, Vice Chancellor, Lucknow University, Professor Alok Kumar Rai planted Harishankari in Tilak Girls Hostel and planted another Peepal tree in Lucknow University Community Done in the center courtyard. In this sequence, the work of Peepal plantation was started in the university and all its affiliated colleges. Peepal trees were planted by the teachers, staff and students of the university from their own level and in all the departments and hostels.

In the Department of Social Work, Professor Anoop Kumar Bhartiya, Professor RK Singh, Professor DK Singh, Professor Gurnam Singh and other professors and research scholars of the department, post graduate students, BA Honors students, and the staff of the department did social work together. Around 41 saplings were planted at various places like Department, Community Centre, Mahmudabad Hall, Habibullah Hall, etc. and more than 15 saplings were also planted by the students in their respective villages.

In order to resolve to plant one lakh peepal saplings by the university, National Service Scheme Lucknow University has also planted peepal saplings in the hostel premises and other places of the university. Tree plantation was done at Mahmudabad Hostel, Lal Bahadur Shastri Hostel, Habibullah Hostel, National Service Scheme Office Complex, Social Work Department Office Complex, Narendra Dev Hostel etc. Program officers and volunteers of National Service Scheme were also present on this occasion. The volunteers who are at their homes also participated in plantation by planting Peepal saplings at their residence.
On this occasion, Program Officers of State Service Scheme, Dr. Rajeshwar Prasad Yadav, Dr. Anoop Kumar Singh, Dr. Rahul Pandey, Dr. Mahendra Agnihotri, Dr. OP Shukla, Dr. Meena Singh, Dr. Mohini Gautam were present. Plantation of 200 peepal trees was done by the college and its teachers, staff and students in all the affiliated colleges.

The tree plantation program was organized in the second campus of Lucknow University by Dr. Desh Deepak, Deputy in-charge of Garden and Ground, Dr. Anurag Srivastava. Peepal trees were also planted in the program by Director Naveen Parisar Prof BD Singh, Director Law Cell Prof Anand Vishwakarma Teacher Dr Rajkumar, Smt. Archana Singh.
The Vice Chancellor also released a pamphlet printed on a Peepal on the said occasion.
